Privacy Policy
Last updated 6 August 2026
OfficePulse is a personal attendance tracker. This policy explains exactly what it stores about you, where that data lives, and how to get it back or delete it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past — it is short because the app collects very little.
It covers both the OfficePulse website at officepulse.app and the OfficePulse iOS app. They share one account and one database, so everything below applies to both unless a section says otherwise.
What we collect
Only what the app needs to work:
- Your email address — used to sign you in and to send account emails such as confirming your address.
- Your name — collected at sign-up, used to greet you and to show your initials in the app.
- Which public holiday calendar to use — the state or territory whose public holidays should count against your attendance. This is a calendar setting, not your location: pick whichever one your workplace follows. Neither the website nor the app ever asks for, accesses or stores your device's location.
- Your settings — your office attendance target, tracking start date, whether you record hours worked from home, and the usual working day you set for it.
- Your attendance records — the date and status (office, working from home, annual leave, sick leave, other holiday) for each day you log, and any note you add to it.
- Hours worked from home — only if you turn this on in Settings → Working from home hours, which is off unless you choose it. It stores the number of hours you enter against a date, nothing else. This exists so you can keep the record the ATO asks for if you claim working from home expenses. We don't work out what you can claim, and nothing here is tax advice.
What we don't collect
There is no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind. We don't collect your location, your contacts, or anything from your device beyond what you type into the app. We don't build a profile of you and we don't sell or share your data with anyone.
Cookies and on-device storage
On the website, OfficePulse sets cookies for one purpose only: keeping you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies. Your appearance settings (light/dark mode and colour theme) are stored locally in your browser and never sent to our servers — which is why they don't follow you between devices.
The iOS app doesn't use cookies. It stores your sign-in session on the device itself so you don't have to log in every time you open it. That session stays on your phone, is not readable by other apps, and is erased when you sign out or delete your account.
Where your data is stored
Your account and attendance data are stored in a Postgres database hosted by Supabase in Sydney, Australia. The website is hosted by Vercel; the iOS app talks to the same Supabase database directly. Both are service providers processing data on our behalf, and neither uses it for their own purposes.
Access is enforced at the database level: every record is bound to the account that created it, so one account cannot read another's data even if the app itself had a bug.
Getting your data out
You can export your full attendance history as a CSV file at any time from Settings → Export your data, in the iOS app and on the website at officepulse.app. No request needed and no waiting.
Both produce the same file from the same data, so it makes no difference which you use. In the app the export is handed to the iOS share sheet, which lets you save it to Files, email it to yourself, or send it wherever you like.
If you record hours worked from home, they're included in the file along with a total for the period you export, and you can pick a whole income year (1 July to 30 June) in one tap. The file is yours to keep or hand to your accountant — we don't send it anywhere.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from Settings → Delete account. This is immediate and permanent: your account, every attendance record you've logged, and all of your settings are erased. There is no recovery period and no backup we can restore from, so export your data first if you want to keep it.
How long we keep it
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account it is removed from the live database immediately.
Children
OfficePulse is a workplace tool and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it. Material changes will be announced in the app.
